Connected, but unidentified network and no internet access
Various domain PCs and laptops appear to randomly give the connection name of "lewis.local 2(Unauthenticated)" - lewis.local being our domain - and provides an exclamation mark where the network type logo is normally shown. This also appears to happen every time connecting via vpn. Our setup is: 2 servers both running windows server 2003 R2 (x32) May 16, 2018 · In the network driver I tried the function “Wait for Link” on all settings (From Auto to Off and On) Logged in with the local administrator Logged in with the domain administrator (You can login after startup without problems) Only with the unidentified network: Internet works (google etc.) nslookup works correctly (DNS name)

Nov 14, 2009 Yet another Vista "Local only" and "Unidentified network".. I am currently uninstalling all updates, and will apply them again one by one to find the one that screws up everything. It's surely going to take a while as Vista is really slow on rebooting, and almost every updates requires a reboot. Local Access Only on Unidentified Network - Page 2
